5. Screening and Selection
Once you have received responses, you must ‘screen' applications to decide which applicants to progress and which to reject.
The job description and person specification will be invaluable in helping the screening process as you will be able to exclude those applicants who do not have the essential requirements for the job.

Before commencing any selection, you should prepare the criteria against which you intend to select and possibly score applicants.
