2a. Retracting a Resignation
If an employee has clearly communicated that they are resigning e.g. they have written to you confirming their resignation, can they change their mind and retract the resignation?
Generally NO, and it will be up to you to deicide if you want to allow them to retract their resignation. This will generally depend on if you wish them to stay or to leave. Sometimes an employee will do you a favour by resigning! Exceptions would be if they have resigned in the heat of the moment and said something like 'I'm resigning'.
