6. Paying for Training

Many employers invest a considerable amount of money in training their people. The reasons for this are clear. The better trained your workforce, the better they will perform, the more engaged they will be. There are therefore benefits for both the company and individual. However, if a company does not reap the benefit of training an employee i.e. they leave soon after attending training, this can be frustrating for the employer as they will not get a return on their investment. This is where training deductions agreements (and contractual clauses) can be effective.
